Sales Room 2: “I don’t like anything larger than an 8X10 on my wall”

We ALL have clients that say “I don’t put anything larger than an 8X10 on my walls.”

I use to say to myself, “crap, there goes the wall portrait sale.”

Now, I respond differently.

I know I might have just made a $500 sale! And I do nearly 100% of the time. (NOTE: I now sell them for $250 each. So 4 is $1000)

“Not a problem, let me show you how cool this is.” and I lead them outside my projection room to a small wall in my studio with a “New product I just started offering, its not even on the price list yet. Its a SUPER nice 8X10 Gallery Wrap Canvas. This way, you get a killer nice canvas at an 8X10 size. Doesn’t that look so nice.” I am showing them a wall with three gallery wrap canvases.

“One is $250 and all three are $500 as a special promotion.”.. (NOTE: I now sell them for $600 for three OR $200 each if they buy two. $250 if they buy one. Those discounts are NOT on my price list. They don’t need to be there. I know what they are AND I ‘want’ them to buy three.)

Then I shut up and get a feel for the room.

We then walk back into the projection room and I actually hand them an 8X10 GW to hold and see how nice it is. I say something like “See how NICE that is. That way, you don’t have to hang a regular ole 8X10 like you got in school. This is super nice.”

Then, I shut up and see where the conversation goes.

    This is a good nugget of info!

    WMV files don’t play on Macs though.  I even downloaded flip4mac and still can’t watch the video.

    I think MPEG4s work for both.

    Do you get the Fine Art gallery wraps that are inkjet to canvas or do you get Photographic wraps that is emulsion transfer to canvas from WHCC? Which do you think is better i think i’ve only received Ink Jet ones from Millers.

    I remembered you said in your other video that you now order from WHCC? They do a great job.
