Successware Wins!
I am going to lease Successware.
My father, a CPA, strongly encouraged me to consider an application that did NOT “integrate” with quickbooks. He is a quickbooks expert himself and attends many quickbook conferences. He cautioned that many applications say they synch with quickbooks and MAY do so but does it very clumsy and will most surely/likely/possibly cause support issues.
I am so busy as a one man studio, I can not spend time with support issues.
Why am I leasing it for $50 instead of buying it for $1500….
Two reasons…. continuously upgraded to the current versions and continuous support. If you buy the software, you get one year of support and then each year thereafter no free upgrades and you pay for support.
Trust me, I am ALL about owning things if I can. But, this seemed to make the most sense after MUCH thought and mental dueling with my great friend David. He won that argument (you gotta let him win at least once every 3 months).
I drilled Judy (at successware) about upcoming upgrades. There are things I want it to do that it doesn’t do but she assured me both of the things I want are part of the upcoming upgrades this year.
One of them is scheduler. It will seamless update an ical calendar backwards and forwards! That is important.
I also want to set up automatic email reminders to my clients. This will be released this year. When I book a senior, I want it to send my “senior email series”. An automatic email confirming their session, things to bring, directions…. and I want it to automatically send an email TWO days prior to the session to remind them of their session and remind them AGAIN of all the things I want them to bring.
Ann Monteith and Julie Woods are two heavy proponents for the software. I am attending a three day seminar by BOTH in August here in Dallas. (I am doing Texas School with Julia Woods in May).
I WISH it was web based so I could do things here at home and at the studio.
Til the scheduler updates, I will keep adding appointments to my yahoo calendar.
Its an all in solution.
Check it out. For $50 a month, I think its a no brainer.
Now, I need to hire someone to enter all my past clients into it!
George
PS. I will continue to update my experience for you. First of all, the interface is sorta DOS looking if know what I mean.
