@callahanphotography@mac.com:

Well, it depends on how often you can going to contact them.

One week if you are only going to contact them once.

Three weeks if you contact them three times. Send one postcard the first week reminding them of their special offer. Send a "Second Notice" the 2nd week reminding them of your previous mailing and restating the offer and the deadline. The final week, send a "Final Notice" letting them know the offer is about to expire. This three step approach is the best.

hey George,
I am sure I heard it in this video (I only watched it 3 times lol) But what's the deadline that you give them to call by for the 250 print credit to the studio?

@Erika Hatfield:

First of all, I am NOT afraid to discuss price. I KNOW for a FACT I am not expensive compared to many photographers. I know photographers whose wall portraits are 2x - 3x mine! And their 8X10s are 2X - 4x mine. I am not expensive BUT shopping for a photographer based on price is NOT how you shop photography. I am not afraid to tell a client that who says, "well, XYZ studio is only $40 an 8X10". I will say something like, "Find someone's work who SPEAKS to you. Find someones work that you can FEEL. Then, check the pricing. Personally, I would rather own FIVE 8X10s from a photographer whose work speaks to me than 20 from someone cheaper but whose work just doesn't do it for me. Quality over Quantity when it comes to photographer. Don't you agree?"

Here is how it goes... "I want a family portrait. What are your prices?"

"A family portrait? Fantastic. Thanks for calling. First, how did you hear about me? Have you been to my website to see the quality of our work? How many people are in your family? Girls? Boys? Ages? Were you wanting an outdoor or studio portrait? The difference between two is ..."

If they bring up wanting SPECIFIC pricing again EARLY in our talk, I will respond with "We will get to that, I promise."

If they bring it up AGAIN later in the conversation, I will say something like.... "Well Kathy, it sounds like my studio would work perfectly for you. To discuss pricing in detail, lets set an appointment to visit my studio so you can see my work up close, see possible wall portrait collections, and discuss pricing in detail alongside actually seeing the quality of the finished portraits. Would a morning appointment work or should we schedule something in the evening?"

If they are CRAZY pushy about price, I will drop the line, "Well, 8X10s range from $80 to $500 depending on the finish and whether its printed on regular photographic paper or hand painted on gallery wrap canvas. This is why I recommend coming into the studio for a consultation so I can show you my work up close, all the options possible, .. .blah blah blah... Would Monday at 10AM work or do we need an evening appointment."

Guess what, the first date she wants is "BOOKED". "I've got a consultation already scheduled during that time on Monday, is there another day during the week that might work? What about X or Y?"

Great Question.

Question on this George, How do you respond to clients inquiring about pricing for regular studio sessions? It seems like that's the only question I get and I have no idea what to say?

Thank you so much for this video - i have been struggling with white backgrounds for awhile. Also I was just looking into buying the Denny white vinyl - it's 50% off right now, would you recommend that one for on location work? Your twins are beautiful and this video was incredibly helpful!

@Nicole Hate:

For my senior models, I do not impose a minimum order for their family session. My min order is only $300 anyway for families.

I do not provide statistics. I have never had anyone get 20 points. I would buy like a $800 Dell or something like that.
